Mr. Keith – Bethany Early Childhood Center Director ~
I am a Colorado native, and have been in Early Childhood Education for 13 years now. I taught in the classroom, mainly with 4 and 5 year olds, for just under a decade before making the switch to program administration. I have studied early childhood at the Community College of Aurora, and educational sociology at Metro State. I love being in this field as it promises to be rewarding work and is certainly something different each day! You can always feel free to stop by the office to chat with me. When I’m not here at BECC, you can usually find me running on the trails (I completed my first full marathon in 2015), traveling, or taking photographs of the beauty that surrounds us!

Hi my name is Vicki I am the Whales Teacher as well as the Assistant Director her at BECC.I have been in the Early Childhood field for going on 25 years. My passion is young children along with all the wonder and beauty they hold. I spent 20 years in a Private Preschool which worked within the Cherry Creek School District. I then spent 3 years as a Lead Preschool teacher in the Douglas County School District before spending a year in the Early Head Start Program. I came to BECC in late summer 2015 and feel like I am home. I recently obtained my Directors Certification in May. I am now able to be a part of the administration side of BECC and am learning so much every day. I love the balance between the classroom and the day to day operations here at BECC.
I am a Native of Colorado, I know, one of the few still left. I have two amazing daughters Paige who was married 2 years ago and just entered the Elementary education field. Alexandra is in her second year of Nursing and is currently at Sky Ridge. I live with my best friend “Chesney” my Yellow Lab. My hobbies/passions are Diving anytime on any Beach and when I can’t be there you
will find me on the Golf Course. I love reading and cooking when I have a little spare time. I also love knowledge so I am generally enrolled in some class or professional development. This summer it’s Spanish and in October I will be ready to certify as an Advanced Diver.
Ms. Linda – Zebra’s Pre-Kindergarten Co-Teacher ~
Hello my name is Linda! I will be working in the Zebra’s classroom this year. This will be my 28th year of teaching! I received my bachelors degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education from Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska. I taught in a one room schoolhouse (K-8) in Nebraska my first year, then moved to Colorado and taught for 10 years in Kindergarten, 5 years in first grade, and the last 11 years as a Junior Kindergarten teacher. I love to teach and cannot imagine doing anything else. I have a soon to be seventeen year old son who will be a Junior this year at Grandview High School. My hobbies include listening to my son sing, reading, cooking, knitting, photography, and a variety of crafts.
In our classroom, the children will have the opportunity to actively learn, explore, and discover all about themselves and the world around them while having fun and working cooperatively with others. I am excited to be able to share God’s word and unconditional love with children through Bible stories, worship songs, and other special activities. I will continue to help each child strengthen, add to and build up the skills they have already acquired from home and/or other previous learning opportunities. I am very excited to get to know you and your children!
Ms. Kimberly – Zebra’s Pre-Kindergarten Co-Teacher ~
Kimberly received a Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Youth Studies in 2012 at Florida Gulf Coast University and has experience teaching in a pre-kindergarten classroom as well as lots of volunteer experience with various age groups. She has always loved watching children learn and try new things, but is especially excited to teach your children about our great God. Kimberly feels that early childhood education should not just be about “babysitting”, but inspiring them to learn, be creative, and experiment. Having children involved in early childhood education helps them not only develop a sense of confidence in themselves, but also relational skills and respect for those around them. To relax, Kimberly loves to do crafts and spend lots of time outdoors. She also loves to hang out with her husband as well as other family and friends.
Ms. Elizabeth – Ducklings (PDO) Teacher ~
Hi, my name is Elizabeth and I am the Parent’s Day Out teacher. Here is a little about myself. I married the love of my life in Colorado in the summer of 2016 while we were living in Oklahoma. Shortly after we decided to make Colorado our home. So in September we moved from Oklahoma to Denver and we have been loving it. In my free time I love to hiking, riding my bike, learning, and exploring new places.
I knew from a young age that children and families were my passion. I went to the University of Central Oklahoma and received a degree in Family Life Education. I worked throughout collage part-time in with children in different classroom settings. Then after graduating I started work full-time at Early Head Start as well as another private preschool. I have also worked doing shortly as a behavior technician with children with autism. After moving to Colorado I joined the BECC team and have loved being back in the classroom. I love watching every child learn and grow in the own unique way. I am currently going to school working toward a Masters of Social Work so that I can continue to work with children and families in different settings.
Ms. Sarah – Ducklings (PDO) Teacher ~
I fell in love with teaching preschool during my senior year at Arizona State University. I was majoring in Family and Human Development, intending on pursuing a career in social work, when I participated in a mandatory internship in the college’s preschool. I instantly knew this was where I wanted to stay! I earned my Bachelors in 2013 and began teaching preschool in Flagstaff, Arizona. I taught for two years, and worked right up until I gave birth to my son, Samuel. I decided that while I was at home with my new baby, I would use the opportunity to pursue my formal teaching credentials, and thus I enrolled in a post-baccalaureate program for Early Childhood Education through Rio Salado College. However, studying teaching methods left me missing being in the classroom immensely, and so I decided to go back to work while juggling school. I firmly believe that the preschool years are positively crucial to a child’s growth and development over the course of their life. I am committed to creating a warm, positive atmosphere wherein children can learn to value education and to learn the social skills necessary to become a successful and responsible member of our community. As for who I am personally, I love hiking, riding my tandem bike with my husband, singing, cooking, and telling incredibly corny jokes!

Ms. Jean – Substitute Teacher ~
My name is Jean Jonasson and I am a substitute teacher at BECC. When the MOPS program started at Bethany I was asked to be a Mopettes teacher and my time here started. When the preschool opened two years later I worked for both groups while completing my early childhood degree at Arapahoe Community College. I also obtained my director’s certification at the same time. After I graduated I worked for BECC only, as a teacher and assistant director. I love working in the preschool environment and only retired in 2012 to pursue another love, traveling with my husband to interesting places. Being a substitute teacher allows me to travel, take classes through OLLI at DU, tutor through the Bridge program at DU and still teach young children.
